This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare services are also used for DNS, content delivery and secure delivery of the website.

This processing is necessary to deliver the website, ensure its security and detect attacks and technical faults.

Cloudflare states that its network services may process metadata about website visits, which may include IP addresses in particular. Metadata is processed in data centres in the USA and Europe, among other locations.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is the secure, fast and reliable provision of this website.

Cloudflare processes certain personal data as a processor. For transfers of personal data outside the European Economic Area, Cloudflare's Data Processing Addendum provides for EU Standard Contractual Clauses, among other safeguards.

3. Contact by email

If you contact me by email, I process the data you provide, particularly your name, email address and message content, to respond to your enquiry.

Where your enquiry relates to entering into or performing a contract, processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

For other business enquiries, processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is responding to incoming enquiries.

The data is deleted once it is no longer needed for its intended purpose, unless statutory retention requirements or other legal grounds require it to be kept longer.

4. Contact form via Formspree

I use Formspree for the contact form.

When you submit the form, the following information in particular is sent to Formspree:

Formspree processes this data to receive your form submission and forward it to me. Form submissions are also stored in the Formspree account. The free plan currently retains submission history for 30 days.

According to Formspree, its services are hosted on Amazon Web Services in the USA. As a processor, it uses Standard Contractual Clauses for international data transfers.

Processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual enquiries and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for other enquiries.

5. Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google.

For users in the European Economic Area, the service is generally provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Analytics helps me statistically analyse how this website is used and improve the website.

The following data in particular may be processed:

Google states that individual IP addresses of users in the EU are not logged or stored. The IP address is used to derive approximate location information and is then discarded.

Google Analytics is activated on this website only after you give your consent. Without consent, the Analytics script is not loaded.

11. Saved language preference

When you choose German or English using the language selector, your preference is saved under the key “language” in your browser's local storage (localStorage). This allows the website to restore your choice when you return to the homepage. The preference remains saved until you select another language or clear this website's browser storage.
